The earliest I have in my records for these two species here in Missouri is:

American Golden-Plover, March 13, 1996, at Muskrat Lake, Saint Joseph, MO
Long-billed Dowitcherr, March 13, 2006, at Squaw Creek NWR, Mound City, MO

Rogles and Bormann report AM. GOLDEN PLOVER and LONG-BILLED
DOWITCHER down the Confluence Park Road near the heron rookery.
(not far from the state park entrance sign).
A bit early for St. L

They also had Am. Pipits.

BTW, Jim and I thought we had some small non-killdeer shorebirds try to land at
Pintail March, RMBS yesterday at the end of the day
Guess things are moving with this front.
