I think that the site you mention below still does not help with Vaux's Swift, is it vaux or vo; and pileatus (Woodpecker), PILL- e - a- tus or PIE - le - a - tus; etc.

Actually there are defined rules for pronunciation of Latin Biological names.  This website has a pretty good breakdown of those rules.
