More of the same species from previous reports continue with the ongoing cold weather (White-throated Sparrows, juncos, goldfinches, grackles, starlings and some Purple Finches). The past week seemed to bring a few more American Tree Sparrows and an occasional Song Sparrow, Hairy Woodpecker and Brown Creeper. A rare female Common Redpoll made a second appearance at the sunflower feeder on Feb. 12. Calling Barred Owl and Red-shouldered Hawk rounded out the list and Tufted Titmice began singing this week.
