One of the List members recently said that they automatically delete file attachments because the attachment could be a virus. I thought that an MP3 file, being _data_ that must be played by a player that understands MP3 format, could not contain a virus. In other words, if the player saw some data sequence that violated the MP3 format, the player would stop accessing the file and tell the user that the file was corrupt. The MP3 file itself is not an executable file.
Does anyone know if an MP3 file can contain a virus?
