Not in Auden's Christmas Oratorio. Herod there is a liberal offended by
the thought that God would give him the power to kill the Son of God. No
one should be faced with that choice he complais. (imitation from
memory) I've improved dains, I repared the roads, I brush my teeth every
morning, I'm a libral, I want everyone to be happy, I wish I were dead.
