Socialism is a process -- a long, torturous and twistint process whcih
began 210 years ago with the execution of Francois Babboeuf, has gone
down wrong but necessary and unavoidable paths, has corrected itslf, has
shrunk almost to nothingness, but continues -- not becausee there is any
assurance of success, there isn't, for contingency rules, but because,
as Rosa Luxemburge recognized the alternative is baarbarism (and she
also recognized that barbarism was a more likely outcome).
