Call for Papers 

For the regular session "German Women Writers" at the
67th Annual Convention for the South Central Modern Language Association 
Fort Worth, Texas
October 28-30, 2010

This year's panel is entitled "Traditions and Innovations"

Presenters may address new trends and approaches in German-language
literature, culture, and/or pedagogy.  The focus should be on changes
pioneered by and/or related to German or German-speaking women authors
or other cultural figures.  These developments in the field can be
compared with traditional notions of canon, genre, form, methodology,
etc., in keeping with the overall convention theme of 'New Frontiers.'

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
- Literary or other aesthetic experimentation by women
- Reactions in literature to feminism, neo-feminism, post-feminism
- Reform of textbooks/readers/instructional materials to reflect gender diversity
- Challenges and debates involved in expanding the literary canon to include more women writers
