The darker earth is the portion dug out-- the perspective looks like you could just walk across but if you walked past the refuge sign another 40 feet, you would fall about 4 to 5 feet<br> Unable to see if  they are going to install something or  if they are just getting ready to add to the levee

In conjunction with the Heron Pond Habitat Expansion Project Dedication scheduled for Sunday, Oct 25, at 2:00 PM, a tent will be raised near Heron Pond.   This tent will be up for 2 days or so and will come down early next week.
