I incidentally birded the same spots Brad Jacobs did yesterday.
Long Branch Lake - also found the common tern in basic plumage on the
roof of the floating dock nicely showing the black shoulder patch - I
do not always get to see it. Numbers of gulls are significantly up -
~600 ring-billed, 150 Franklin's and 14 herring (2 juv.). 7 gadwall on
the main body plus cormorants and coots.
Thomas Hill: 4 gulls species: herring, Bonapart's, Franklin's, and
ring-billed. 2 FOS honred grebes (from the Gull Point) and 1 FOS eared
grebe (from the causeway), 2 pied-billed grebes. Several American
whilte pelicans and double-crested cormorants, an adult bald eagle.
