MObirders -
Out here in the Joplin area we have very little permanent mud flats for shorebirds.
Carl Junction was drawing down one of their lagoons and created a mudflat.
You build them and they will come.  Yesterday at near noon I had:
5 Killdeer
6 Lesser Yellowlegs
7 dowitcher species
and 10 Least Sandpipers.
Also present were my FOS Ruddy Duck
3 Pied-billed Grebes and 10 N. Shovelers
and a D. c. Cormorant.
Carl Junction is in Jasper County, just nw of Joplin.
Good birding,
