Relatively new to the list. Have enjoyed reading about all the sightings across Missouri and in neighboring states. Just want to add that our pin oaks have been very fertile this fall. Acorns everywhere.

I have had a bumper crop from the white oaks in my yard this fall.  The abundance cycles of  acorns do vary  according to species of oaks, however.  My yard is not good for turkeys and have only one record of a couple over a period of many years.

There were ten turkeys in the yard this AM.  They seemed to be looking fof acorns and I've noticed there's only one tree, out of about 20 in this yard, that has acorns this year.  Deer have been foraging under that tree also.  I couldn't tell if the turkey were thin or not, but the deer certainly are.  Is there a general lack of acorns this year?  Or only right around here?
