Was able to coax a whipporwill to call last night on some private property close to Castlewood SP/zombie rd area of west St Louis County
There was a yellow-throated vireo singing early this morn before the rain off the Grotpeter trail at Castlewood SP
At least one broad-wing hawk has been hanging out in the trees around the first parking lot after you go under the train trestle.Word of caution though, there is also a pair of red-shouldered hawks in this general area
Several blue-wing teal,n-shovelers  and wood ducks along the river.Actually during spring migration teal, shovelers, wigeon and gadwall are fairly easy to see along the river.Wood ducks nest in the area
All in all it seems to be a slower than usual spring migrant wise. Many birds I normally have by now dont seem to have arrived yet
