Three long-tailed ducks were on Binder Lake, near St. Martins off of US 50 west of Jefferson City, Cole County at noon on March 9, 2009.  They appear to be three females, 2 in winter and 1 in transition plumage as best I can tell. They are diving a lot, 5% up and 95% underwater. They are about 100 meters off of the handicapped dock near the middle of the west side of the lake along the narrow winding road. Not by the marina near the dam. ALso about 30+ Tree swallows on the lake.
