Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of birding in La Vista Park in Godfrey, IL (Madison Co.) Observed good numbers of the following sparrows: FIELD SPARROW, AMERICAN TREE SPARROW, WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, & SONG SPARROW. Also found one FOY FOX SPARROW. There was a population of EASTERN BLUEBIRDS using the boxes. A large kettle of TURKEY VULTURES hovered over the bluffs all afternoon. Also, I was fortunate enough to get good looks at a KRIDER'S RED-TAILED HAWK flyover through the woods. The woods were mostly populated with CHICKADEE SP., WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, and TUFTED TITMOUSES. All in all a fun day of birding in gorgeous weather.
