This morning at B.K. Leach CA there were thousands of waterfowl present. The majority were Mallards and N. Pintail. Most impressive (to me) were 800+ G. W.-F. Geese. Among other ducks were 4 A. Widgeon, 1 Buffelhead, a few Ruddy Ducks and Canvasbacks. A lonely Trumpeter Swan was snoozing among some R.-N. Ducks. Three flocks of Snow Geese (150+ per flock) flew over heading NW. In one flock the ratio of blue morphs to white morphs was about 50:50. A few young Eagles were flying low over the impoundments harassing the ducks. Quite a sight to see one to two thousand ducks in the air at one time. (13 species of waterfowl total).
