Last Saturday turned out to be a better than expected day for the count. Some roads and parts of the area were inaccessable however due to the flooding the week before. Had a good group of 14 birders in 6 parties, but with little open water except the flooded parts looks like species numbers will be about average for this count. Have not received results from two groups yet though so haven't got totals. Some of the highlights I am aware of;

Greater White-fronted Goose - 25
Rough-legged Hawk - 5
 Red-shouldered Hawk - 3  will probably be more from other areas
Great Blue Heron - 9  more than usual/expected
 Ring-billed Gull - 400+  high number for this count
 Herring Gull - 1  rare for this count
Northern Shrike - only 1 -  found by the McNeely Team
Belted Kingfisher - 3
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 3  rare in North Mo.
 Cedar Waxwing - 900+  so far  Wow!

A Big Thanks! to all those who helped this year.
