Via the grapevine:

ALL ILLINOIS birds at Carlyle Lake, Bond/Clinton co.

3 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS at Saddle Dam
Sounds like all the gulls and waterfowl have gone to Carlyle Lake.
Glaucous, Lesser Black-backed, TONS of Herring gulls.

Common Goldeneye almost too many to count.

South Shores Point 18 (Hickory Point) is one of the birdiest vantage points.

BTW, according to local St. L weather guy, Dave Murray, this next deep
freeze will probably be the last one of the entire winter season. Get the
good gulls while you can.

Good birding,
Charlene Malone
St. Louis co.
