Can't do that off-hand, but I can point to the first Canadian to receive the Victoria Cross,
(highest military honour bar none in the British Commonwealth/Empire) which he did in 1858,
2 years before your "civil" war. He was the son of escaped slaves:

Britain has had 5 (I think) female heads of state.
One female prime minister
One Jewish prime minister.

Canada has had 1 female prime minister,
three female heads of state (not counting the Queen)
and currently has both a female head of state and a female head of the supreme court
(not to mention a long and distinguish list of female supreme court members).
