Took a couple of hours off today and birded around Smithville Lake. Saw a
huge raft of Blues and Snows just East of the dam, along with female
Buffleheads, male and female Common Goldeneyes, Gadwalls, and a Pied-billed
Grebe. On the shore were some Tree Sparrows.

Went further north to J hwy and saw 1 adult and 2 juvenile Bald Eagles,
Flickers, a Coot, more Gadwalls, Ring-billed Gulls, White Throated Sparrows,
Song sparrows, Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Crows, Bluejays, Cardinals, Black-
capped Chickadees and a Rough-legged Hawk.

It sure was a nice day to be out today.
