I spent a few hours around Kennedy Forest in Forest Park (St. Louis City) this morning with Eliot Miller, a new PhD student here at UMSL.

Things were pretty quiet, but we ran into a couple flocks of migrants:

Cooper's Hawk, family of 4 chasing each other all morning
Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 1
R-t Hummingbird, lots everywhere especially in the jewelweed
Great Crested Flycatcher, 1
E. Wood-Pewee, lots
Empids, several but didn't try to ID
Red-eyed Vireo, 3
Warbling Vireo, 1 (& maybe a Philadelphia too)

Tennesee Warbler, 1
Nashville Warbler, 5
Black-and-white Warbler, 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler, 1-2
Black-throated Green Warbler, 1
Blackburnian Warbler, 1 maybe (fly-by)
American Redstart, 3
Common Yellowthroat, 2

Scarlet Tanager, 1
Summer Tanager, 1
R-b Grosbeak, 1
Indigo Bunting, ~5
