Was showing off the area to a co-worker today. No BN stilts, but ID's at
least 2 least sandpipers, spotted sandpipers, immature Black-crowned
night herons, all in pool 4. Also probable dowitcher & yellowlegs spp,
more killdeer than sparrows. There were a few eastern kingbirds in the
cottonwoods along the gravel road also. Number of egrets & herons falling.
With the clouds moving in, visibility was not the best. Did get to watch
a beaver stripping bark off a cottonwood, in the ditch (water-supply
channel?) beside the gravel road. Quite a few cottonwoods along there show
tooth marks.
