Northwest Mo-Birders (and others near-by) may have interest in the following field trip,

hosted by:

Mid-June is an excellent time to enjoy the myriad of colorful prairie wildflowers in the tall grass prairies at the Helton Prairie
Conservation Area near Bethany, Missouri.
While at the prairie many of the unique prairie wildflowers will be identified and interpreted by Dr. John Rushin, Audubon member and botanist at Missouri Western State
University. Viewing of BOBOLINKS and UPLAND SANDPIPERS are other treats to be experienced along roads bordering the prairie on this field trip.
The group will leave from the Perkins Restaurant parking lot at 1:00 PM and be back around 6:00 PM. The walking will be easy to moderate.Remember to dress for the weather. Bring bug spray and drinking water. Free and the public is invited.
We hope that you can make it. For more information call Dr. Rushin at 816-364-1755 or Voltz at 816-364-4702
