We're going on longer trips alot less now - we have been inside more because of the weather than the gas prices but all of this is a factor.  The possibility of running into a tornado while out of town is a concern of ours too - even though getting killed in a tornado is probably a very low percentage risk.

We've been planning a trip to Oklahoma (my home state) but if the weather doesn't iimprove - we probably won't go this year.  When we do take longer trips - we rent a small car - they get alot more mileage than our Dodge Caravan.

Subject: fuel prices

I am not seeing any evidence that birders are drivng less due to higher fuel prices. I have arrived at the stage of feeling guilty about birding which requires driving. Is anyone cutting back because of  fuel costs ?      Lester Pannell
