Thanks, Susan Hazelwood for explaining the evolutionary value of sweet blossoms to American Robin.  Insects gather in blossom and robin takes blossom for insects, i.e. survival. 
   You know, with humans, person bearing blossoms may also improve survival of the species, but without the insects.
