Mobirders,

The Audubon Society of Missouri will be conducting a workshop on marsh birds at the B. K. Leach Conservation Area just north of St. Louis, Missouri on Friday May 30th to Sunday June 1st. If you were ever interested in improving your skills on identification of those hard to find marsh birds, then this is for you. Bill Eddleman will be conducting the workshop.

There is a limit to the number of people that will be able to attend. If you are interested, please get your name in as soon as possible. Details of the event are listed below.

Prospectus: Participants will learn how to identify major marsh bird
species by sight and sound. Included will be grebes; herons, egrets,
and bitterns; cranes; rallids; terns; and selected passerines found in
marshes. There will be a strong emphasis on identification by sound, and some
discussion of surveying marsh bird populations.

When:  Friday, May 30- Sunday, June 1

Where:  Field Trips will be to B. K. Leach Conservation Area and surrounding
sites. This is the same weekend as one of the regularly scheduled marsh
bird surveys at the conservation area. Accommodations and indoor sessions
will be at the Super 8 in Troy, Missouri.

I have reserved a block of 15 rooms and a meeting room (Saturday only for the meeting room). The cost of the rooms is a special rate of $69.30 plus tax per night. Participants
may make reservations by calling the Super 8 at 636-528-6888. Tell them you
are with the Bill Eddleman/ASM group to get the block rate. You must reserve
the room by May 25 to get the special rate. Meals will be on your own, but breakfast is included in the Super 8 room cost.
