Twenty-two birders enjoyed a beautiful day birding at Columbia Bottom  CA.  
Let by Columbia Bottom's wildlife biologist Mike Arduser, we  walked the wooded 
trail near the boat launch and drove through a gated area of  the refuge.  At 
the boat launch, we found 2 sleeping Common Nighthawks in a  tree.  In the 
gated area, we enjoyed seeing 3 American Golden Plovers,  one in beautiful 
breeding plumage. Dick Coles saw 2 Black-necked Stilts on the  eastern edge of the 
area after he left the group, and there was an Alder  Flycatcher along the 
trail which was heard and seen by most of the  birders.  Below is a list of the 
birds that were seen, 88 species:
