I got a phone call reporting "good" birds being seen this morning at
Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area, southern Boone County. When you're on
Star School Road, coming down off the levee top and approaching the two
cottonwood trees (one on either side of the road) ... a singing Blue
Grosbeak was seen before the two cottonwoods in the dead grasses by the
parking area ... a Western Kingbird was seen picking bugs out of the mud
on the other side of the two cottonwood trees. In the pools at EBCA
there were about 50 Semipalmated Plovers, 10-15 Wilson's Phalaropes and
numerous Lesser Yellowlegs.
