With the spring migration well underway, Grand River Audubon members are preparing to host the ASM Spring meeting in Chillicothe, MO.

Mother nature has provided plenty of water and the wetland areas have numerous ducks and waterfowl and are prime for the shorebirds.

The upland areas are also beginning to show signs of spring. The first of the year warblers are beginning to arrive. and the numbers of Juncos, Purple Finch and Harris Sparrows are slowly being rreplaced by Field Sparrows, Vesper Sparrow and the now bright yellow Goldfinch.

Grand River Audubon members have fieldtrips planned to some of the best birding areas in North Missouri, in and around the Chillicothe Mo. area. We hope you can spend the weekend of May 2-4 with us birding these areas and seeing the local sights.

Be sure to send your registrations to Dianne Kinder as the deadline of April 22 is fast approaching. If you need a registration form you can obtain one by going to "mobirds.org" and click on the ASM tab and got to meetings.

Hope to see you at the meeting
