Berlin and Modernism 1900-1945, Sept. 26-28, at the University of the South.
The deadline for submission of proposals is March 20, 2008.

In association with the Fallada Forum, the German Department at Emory University and
the German Department at Vanderbilt University, the German Department at the
University of the South invite submissions for a multidisciplinary conference entitled
Berlin and Modernism 1900-1945. The conference will bring together academics from
various disciplines to explore the many artistic forms that turned Berlin into a vibrant
center of modernism after 1900. Papers will focus on the connection between
architecture, city planning and literature, theater, film,  music and art. We invite
submissions from all disciplines engaged in Berlin Studies.  Graduate students are
encouraged to participate.
