Columbia Mobirders,

Roxie Campbell, Park Naturalist at Rock Bridge Memorial State Park sent the message.

The open meeting is at Columbia's ARC at 6:00 January 14 (Monday). A second open meeting is at 7:30
the same evening (there is a youth football meeting in the middle).

You might consider attending the public input meetings mentioned below to provide guidance to the
city as they make plans for how to develop and manage the former Crane and Philips (portion around
the lake) properties into a city park. The Crane property is adjacent to the Gans Creek Wild Area on the
east side. City planners seem inclined to help protect the park, but the input of the public is their
primary guide, so here's your chance to influence what happens. Here are a few questions to illustrate
potential impact to the park. How will construction and management practices affect water quality and
quantity of Gans Creek? Will athletic field light poles be visible from the wild area? Will bicyclists enter
the wild area (not permitted in the wild area). What about horseback riding? I believe you can also fill
out a survey on-line.
