Just got back from walking the dogs at Columbia Bottoms CA. Saw 2 n. harriers, a small covey of bob-whites, some sparrows (LBJs) & juncos in the brush along the edge of the woods, some common crows and rock doves feeding in the corn field, a few horned larks along the road, a few thousand mixed blackbirds (those that i could hear were redwings) in 3 or 4 flocks, and a very noisy pileated woodpecker, flying around the boat-launch ramp and special-needs fishing facility. Was a beautiful afternoon to be out!
