Today is my first time for doing Project Feeder Watch at my yard, in years past I have done it at Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary in Liberty, Clay Co. (816-781-8598 if you'd like to help with their PFW) but this is the first year that I have a schedule that permits doing it at home. In honor of the occasion 6 Pine Siskins landed in one of my trees and then spread out to various feeders and my creek. When I checked my records, all other yard sightings have been in spring: 1 in March '94, 2 - May '95 and one each May '01 and May '05.

If you would like to participate in Project Feeder Watch ($15.00 fee to cover materials) go to http://www.birds.cornell.edu/pfw/ to sign up.

Happy birding,

Ruth Simmons
