We get to join the Siskin club. I almost posted last night that we still
had none, but this morning we had one lone siskin with a decent group of
goldfinches. He was enjoying Niger from the mesh bag.

Our junco numbers are up this morning, as well as adding a white throated
sparrow to the mix. There was a solitary house finch, as well...they've
been scarce lately.

We've had a couple RB nuthatches for over a month. The crisply marked male
arrived a week or so before a more muted one, I'm presuming a female.
They're a treat. They've been eating black oil sunflower at a feeder from
which I've banished the house sparrows. We've been just overrun with the
house sparrow vermin this fall, so I finally rigged a feeder to keep them
off. The fishing line trick works very well.
