This email is to remind everyone about the first ASECS Excellence in
Award. The ASECS Graduate Caucus is pleased to announce the
establishment of a new award: the Excellence in Mentorship Award. This
award, which will be given out at the annual ASECS meeting, recognizes
a faculty member who has generously supported their graduate students
by helping them excel in their scholarship, teaching, and professional
development. We are currently seeking nominees for this award.

If you'd like to nominate someone, please send the following to the Graduate
Caucus's co-chair, Caroline Wigginton, by December 15th.  To nominate
you must either be a current graduate student or have completed your
degree within the last five years.

- the name of the mentor, their institutional affiliation, and a brief CV
outlining the mentor's major professional accomplishments
- TWO 1-2 page letters of recommendation from the mentor's students
that outlines the ways in which the mentor has supported his or her
graduate students in scholarship, teaching, and professional
development.  At least one student should be a current graduate student
with the nominee.
