Marie,

Pleased to respond, but not the greatest news for you.

Willow Springs is not near any good waterbird area, as it is on the  
Ozark plateau.  We have no natural lakes (except a few Missouri or  
Mississippi River oxbows), but do have numerous Corps of Engineer  
impoundments that show great dragon-like squiggles of blue on the  
map.  Alas, these are, for the most part avoided by most waterfowl  
except in the dead of winter.

But, there is some good news--if you stretch that 150 mile range a bit.

To the east of Willow Springs, a little more than 150 miles, are some  
excellent sites, including Mingo NWR and the adjacent Duck Creek  
Conservation Area.  See the addresses below for details.
