Congratulations, Joe!

Most of you fellow Mobirders have a sense of how much effort and
determination seeing 300 birds in one year in Missouri takes. Few
have pursued the goal more than once.

On the ASM website (www.mobirds.org) there is a banner head "Listing"
for Missouri Listers (Josh Uffman oversees this). In the drop down
menu appears "MOLists", within that is a series of categories. One
is headed "Misc. Lists." In that category appears a section showing
the earliest dates the 300 mark was reached.

No one has ever reached this dizzying height by October--(Kristi
Mayo's 03 November is the earliest recorded on the list).

For Joe to reach #300 only 2/3 through September is a remarkable feat.
AND... this puts him in real contention for the opportunity to set a
new annual Missouri record. (See "Top Ten" in the MOLists section.)

Tim Barksdale, in 1991 saw 314 species (I think this is the raw
number, not adjusted to reflect splits).
A 16 year old record in birding is a rare thing these days.

Bodacious birding, Joe!
