Yellow-throated Vireos were singing all over Squaw Creek today. I saw
Philadelphia Vireo, Red-eyed Vireos and Warbling Vireos on the west side by
Mallard Marsh. Red-breasted Nuthatches are plentiful on the refuge.
Nashville Warblers are abundant and a few TN warblers are present. The
Osprey was still there today as well as the Sandhill Cranes and Northern
Harrier was flying over the marsh. Soras are ubiquitous and easy to see.
I didn't see the Swainson's Thrush today which was in the north woods
yesterday. A pair of Barred Owls have been sitting above the road the past
two days in the north woods. They aren't at all shy.
