Dickinson Co. is in the northwest corner of Iowa, 3 counties from the west border. The northern border is Minnesota. Spirit Lake and Okoboji Lake are there. The north end of Spirit Lake is in Minnesota--this is where the Black-headed Gull has spent several autumns.
