     Brad Jacobs, Phil Wire, and myself continued a short swing through the 
bootheel yesterday and again came across some nice birds.  We spent most of 
the day in the Otter Slough CA area so the locations are somewhat limited 
but still a decent number of birds.

Otter Slough CA:

7 Gadwall
7 Ring-necked Ducks
6 Pied-billed Grebes
1 Bald Eagle
1 Loggerhead Shrike
2 Blue Grosbeaks

areas* near Otter Slough CA:

250 Great Egrets
1 Snowy Egret
20 Cattle Egrets
1 Bald Eagle
1 Peregrine Falcon
1 American Coot
50 Killdeer
37 Black-necked Stilts
10 Greater Yellowlegs
60 Lesser Yellowlegs
4 Solitary Sandpipers
2 Spotted Sandpipers
50 Least Sandpipers
15 Pectoral Sandpipers
1 Dunlin
1 Short-billed Dowitcher
1 Black Tern

* The areas near Otter Slough included WRP land on the west side of the 
conservation area which can only be entered with landowner approval and also 
rice fields on the north side of Otter Slough near the intersection of 
CR-642 and CR-679 which should only be entered with landowner permission

     Also on the way back north a Sharp-shinned Hawk flew across the 
intersection of I-270 and I-55 in southern St. Louis county.
