   Actually, it could be prejudicial to call resistance to such an idea a 
prejudice.


   Two of Walker Percy's collections are good on this. __Message in the 
Bottle: how queer man is, how queer language is, and what one has to do 
with the other__ is very useful, as is __Signposts in a Strange Land__. 
Both are at pains to explain the difference between human and animal 
communication and do it with the novelist's touch.
