Monday, Katy Trail, St. Charles co, Jim Malone had:
ALDER flyc & WILLOW FLYC near the parking lot.
no Painted bunting for him.
Many(!) PRAIRIE WARBLERS - sgo* from "Mt. Doom" to Katy Trail along Hwy 94.
GRASSHOPPER SPARROW by "Mt. Doom".

Sunday, Riverlands, St. Chas. co, JM & CM
Thanks to Dave Rogles alerting us to the shorebird habitat along the
Confluence road
(Small to big fluddles along road in multiple places. Look carefully in the
corn stubble behind the pool on the side of the big brown Confluence State
Park sign (big pools on either side of road). Don't forget the hunt club and
fluddles along Red School Road.)
He had 10 species of birds at the Confluence fluddle which included STILT
and B-B PLOVER.
We only had 3 species, but numbers were at least 50 -70 (++) Semi-palm.
Sandpipers and one Dunlin.
Think the storm brought them down, but good place to look for any shorebirds
in the next week or so since the River is so high.

NO sanderlings, turnstones, Piping plover, or r-n phalaropes seen around
Riverlands that I know of.
Anyone else see these species in the STL area ? (besides the sanderlings at
Winfield.)
If so, please post.....some (many?) STL listers are still looking for them.
(thanks!)

Good, Safe Summer Birding,
Charlene Malone
St. Louis co.
