Went to Lost Valley this afternoon from 04:06pm-05:15pm. Water levels that have been very high the last two weeks have finally dropped 3-4 feet in the last 48 hours. Bird wise it was extremely quiet. Only birds of interest were a couple of Kentucky Warblers close by. Saw more bikers than birds that I guess were doing trial runs before the big race this weekend.

Decided to move on to the Katy trail to make an attempt at the Painted Bunting. Did not see the new temp feeder or the green truck, but at the end of the lot were others have reported seed on the ground was the bunting as well as 6-7 mail Indigo Buntings, one female, and 6-8 Cowbirds. Watched the Painted Bunting for 5-10 minutes from my car until they all scattered. Excellent views.

  Thanks,
  Steve Griffaw
