It's definitely very very 'seltsam' rather than at all 'komisch' to a
native - the author most erroneously and carelessly has York taxi
drivers speaking like a caricature of Eliza Doolittle
or [there's few, now even in London] Cockney 'cabbies' - that would
amuse said York taxi drivers enormously and they'd be very likely and most
justifiably to throw this totally misguided and ignorant 'humorist'
straight into the River Ouse......
