Greetings MOBirders,

While returning home from an early morning walk with the dogs at
Albert-Oakland Park in north Columbia I heard a Bewick's wren singing in a
lone tree directly north of the ball field behind Albert-Oakland Middle
School. I watched the wren fly then land by the out buildings where it
scolded/called. I am quite familiar with this species from my days of field
work in central Texas so it certainly was a Bewick's wren. I know of a
Bewick's wren pair that nested near the Baskett Wildlife Area east of
Ashland a year or two ago, but I have never observed Bewick's wrens in
Columbia proper. Any other Bewick's wren sightings around Columbia within
recent days or years?
