Took a quick trip to Bean Lake, Little Bean Marsh CA (Platte Co.) and Lewis and Clark SP (Buchanan Co.) today (03/18/07). Few highlights:
Bean Lake
American white pelican >50
American golden plover >15
Killdeer > 30

At Little Bean Marsh I experienced the "song sparrow show", that Doug described. THere were over 30 song sparrows near the observation deck at the end of the west (left) trail, that start singing if you pish. I also saw some fox sparrows, a brown creeper, red-headed woodpeckers and other expected residents in the woods.

Lewis and Clark SP
Snow geese
Ross's geese (one very close to shore)
Lesser scaup
Ruddy duck
Gadwall
Shoveler

Missed the spotted towhee again!!! This bird avoids me in MO for some reason.
Good birding
