Ticks, technically, are not "bugs"--they're not even insects--so the  
old saw may still hold true, just not for this nemesis.

Global warming may not be an accepted reality for some, but the  
climatic changes we're experiencing are being felt by our Iowa  
neighbors--ticks are appearing further north than in past memory (and  
one can assume that chiggers may not be far behind).

Good itching--I mean birding,
