I only observed thirteen (13) species of waterfowl on the oxbow lakes this morning. All seen at Lake Contrary except for the Snow Geese at Mud Lake (Buchanan County). The ones seen: Snow Goose, Canada Goose, Gadwall, American Wigeon (2), Mallard, Blue-winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, Northern Pintail, Green-winged Teal, Redhead, Lesser Scaup, Bufflehead (2) and Common Goldeneye (4).

I am still waiting for the influx of shorebirds. The only ones I saw this morning were Killdeer, Greater Yellowlegs (4) and Pectoral Sandpiper (3).

A couple of Eastern Phoebes were "setting up shop" at Bluff Woods.

One Loggerhead Shrike was hanging out at Muskrat Lake.

I saw my FOY Yellow-rumped Warbler at Bluff Woods.

The only sparrows I saw this morning were Fox, White-throated and Harris's. I did find a flock of about fifty (50) Lapland Longspurs moving from a disked field and disappearing in a harvested corn field south of Lake Contrary.
