Josh,  I don't think you need to be concerned about missing out on  waterfowl 
at Squaw Creek, Smithville Lake, and Lake Contrary any time  soon.   I was at 
Squaw Creek about a week ago, and there were  many geese, ducks, swans, and 
coots to be seen, even though there was  still ice around the edges of the 
pools.   The spring migration  "season" at Squaw Creek runs until mid-May, I 
believe, so if you are planning  your trip soon, there should be lots to see.
