Dave,

Where were the 301 American Golden Plovers??

I've not been following ALL posts as closely as some and am "lost!"

MoBirders,

At 3:40 or so this afternoon I stopped by the plover field and began
counting: 28 here, 26 there, 150, 97---301 American Golden Plovers. Both
teal, shovelers, killdeer, meadowlark, savannah sparrow; yesterday's
yellowlegs were MIA

I drove around to Glacial Sand and in the first field south of the sod farms
I saw a flock of shorebirds flying about--278 American Golden Plovers. I
counted them and then drove back to the first spot to see if the birds were
still there. Roger that; 579 American Golden Plovers total.

I found a Vesper Sparrow at the corner where Glacial Sand meets the sod
farm gravel road- just below the NoTrespassing sign nailed to a telephone
pole.

Good Birding
