For the St. Louis weekend birders: On Wednesday finally heard a short song of a male PINE WARBLER (PIWA) in the Memorial Pine Forests of Rockwood Res along Old Manchester Road (the road that goes through the hamlet of Pond). It was across from the Cornerstone Baptist Church in the #6 Memorial Forest They have not been singing at all when I usually visited until the last time (after 10:30 AM) so an earlier visit may yield more song. Turkey Ridge parking lot has been full of construction vehicles during the weekday, so don't know if there are any PIWAs there or not. Phoebes have been vocalizing at Turkey Ridge and inside Rockwoods. Good weekend birding, Charlene Malone St. Louis co. __________________________________________________ ########################################################### * Audubon Society of Missouri's * * Wild Bird Discussion Forum * *---------------------------------------------------------* * To subscribe or unsubscribe, click here: * * https://po.missouri.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mobirds-l&A=1 * *---------------------------------------------------------* * To access the list archives, click here: * * http://po.missouri.edu/archives/mobirds-l.html * * * * To access the Audubon Society of Missouri Web * * Site: http://mobirds.org * ###########################################################
